Installation ,
Workmanship, Warranty
Our installation process is simply fast, efficient,
scheduled and complete. We do not sub out any aspect of work whether it
a simple tear off and disposal of the old roof, repair to the current roof deck,
extreme renovation, or a new gutter downpipe system. We take care of the permit
and inspection process, meeting or exceeding county code regulations in
materials and workmanship.
Our jobs usually take 2-3 days from start to finish,
depending on the roof pitch and how cut up the overall roof is. Most of the time
no one has to be home during our install, unless special circumstances require
more specific access to your home. Our crews will insure that all of our debris
is picked up daily after every work session, providing you and your
family’s a safe environment through the entire project.
For composite/laminate/asphalt roof we can go right
over top of your existing roof material as long as it does not exceed code
requirements regarding the number of roofing layers allowed. This
benefits the home owner and environment in that you save the added cost of
tear off, removal, and disposing of it in a landfill. Remember this is
asphalt, an oil based product, not recyclable or environmentally friendly.
Wood shake/shingle roof require tear off and disposal, due
to the organic nature and decomposition of the material. While this is an added
expense we can because our product is structural, utilize the skip
batten or skip sheathing usually associated underneath this roof product without
having to add the unnecessary expense and labor to fully sheath in the
roof many other roof products namely composition/laminate/asphalt
require it before installing their product.
Concrete/Clay products must be torn off and
it is more expensive than the previous mentioned products because of weight
issues. But again in the home owners favor we are able to utilize the skip
batten or sheathing underneath without adding full scale sheathing as required
by most other products.
Underlayment
Underlayment for roofs are of utmost importance,
often overlooked and the weakest link in the chain, it is the last barrier of
protection in any roofing system. If due to circumstances there is a delay in
installation our underlayment is made to withstand the exposure for up to 3
months.
A breach in the roofing material itself or the application has
workmanship deficiencies, the last line of defense is the underlayment. Most
underlayment is 15 or 30 lb felt, all that most codes and inspectors require.
This product is the most prevalent underlayment for asphalt, cedar and
concrete/clay tile in roofing today, but it’s organic, oil based and will fail
over time under the best of conditions. If you’re installing a lifetime roof,
would you not want the underlayment to last just as long? Our applications
utilize polymer based products, designed not to deteriorate, tear apart,
breath, yet totally waterproof.
Warranty
California State law requires roofing contractors provide a 2
year workmanship warranty. We believe in this Rare Steel permanent roofing
system so much we offer our customers with a 10 year workmanship warranty.
Rare Manufacturing, Inc gives you a
factory
